Moonlighter 2 Howling Harbor Hidden Treasure Guide

The Moonlighter 2 Howling Harbor hidden treasure unlocks Nimbus Regalia. If Harbor is locked, finish Julien's Souls Forever Lost step and accept Souls Forever Lost 2. If Harbor is already open, visit it once and accept Eris's treasure task. Is Howling Harbor Locked or Is Its Treasure Missing?

Start with the adventure circle. If Howling Harbor cannot be selected, follow Julien's unlock steps below; access to Zephyr Fields alone is not enough. If Harbor is already selectable, skip the region unlock and check Eris's treasure task in the next section. An unlocked region and an active treasure quest are separate requirements. Once both are confirmed, the remaining search is for Anacard's question-mark event and the concealed route behind him.

Advance Julien's Souls Forever Lost Quest Line

Recruit Julien in Tresna, defeat the Zephyr Fields boss, and continue his available quests until Souls Forever Lost appears. That objective requires a visit to Kalina's Night Realm. Return to Tresna afterward and speak to Julien during the day to finish the step. Accept Souls Forever Lost 2 when he offers it; Howling Harbor should then become selectable from the adventure circle. Accepting this quest is the final documented Harbor unlock step.

Bring Julien to Tresna if He Is Missing

If Julien has not joined the town, advance the Voice Beyond progression that produces the portal hand, then pay the requested 500 gold to bring him out. Julien can be found south of Tresna near the staircase and is available for quest conversations during the day. He sleeps at night, so an empty daytime objective should not be diagnosed while visiting his location after dark.

Harbor Is Open: Activate Eris's Hidden Treasure Quest

If you can already enter Howling Harbor but cannot find its treasure entrance, check the journal rather than repeating Julien's unlock chain. Visit Harbor at least once, return to Tresna, and accept Eris's Howling Harbor hidden-treasure task when her quest marker appears. Then search question-mark nodes for Anacard. Finding his room identifies the right physical location, but the portal may remain unavailable while Eris's matching task is inactive.

Confirm Howling Harbor in the Journal

Read the realm name before leaving town. The active task should refer to Howling Harbor, not Zephyr Fields or the older general Aeolia hunt. These two regions have separate entrances and rewards. Zephyr begins behind the starting platform and grants Blo-Blaster; Howling Harbor begins in Anacard's event room and grants Nimbus Regalia. Following the right biome with the wrong journal task is a common reason to find an empty path.

Find the Correct Howling Harbor Event Room

During a Howling Harbor run, prioritize question-mark nodes on the route map. The required event features Anacard, the challenge NPC, standing with a young boy. Some walkthroughs describe the same location as Nou and Anacard's Challenge Room, but Anacard and the child are the clearest visual identifiers. Ordinary combat, utility, boss, and starting nodes do not substitute for this event.

Choose Routes With Several Question Marks

Anacard is one possible question-mark event and is not guaranteed to occupy every ? node. If another encounter appears, continue to a second question mark when the route allows it. When choosing between branches, favor the one with more question marks to create more chances in a single run. A run without Anacard is not proof that the quest is broken; the required event may simply not have appeared.

Do Not Reuse the Zephyr Starting-Node Solution

Howling Harbor does not use the concealed zipline behind the Aeolia starting platform or Zephyr's nine-input island sequence. If you are circling Harbor's arrival point, stop and check the node map. The two locations share floating scenery and zipline traversal, which makes screenshots look similar, but the Harbor entrance only becomes relevant inside the Anacard question-mark event.

Reach the Hidden Portal Behind Anacard

Once the correct event loads, walk behind Anacard and the nearby child. Beside the staircase is a narrow path that descends away from the obvious event area. Players have described its entrance as a small, almost invisible ladder, while newer walkthroughs call it a hidden staircase or secret path. These descriptions identify the same action: inspect the edge behind the NPCs and move downward instead of taking the normal room exit.

Follow the Descending Path to the Zipline

Continue down the concealed route until an Interact prompt appears. Use it to take the zipline away from the event platform, then follow the connection to the green mission portal. Entering the portal begins a self-contained traversal challenge. If the path exists but the portal does not, check the journal before rerolling the event; both Anacard's room and Eris's accepted Harbor task are required.

Complete the Howling Harbor Hidden Treasure Challenge

Inside the green portal, cross a traversal course built around purple timed platforms, switches, and more ziplines. Watch a platform's cycle before committing to a jump, then use each stable landing area to inspect the next connection. The objective is to follow the challenge route to its final reward area; there is no additional overworld node, boss room, or random NPC to locate after entering the portal.

Follow Bulletin Boards With Two Notes

The Harbor course branches. At those decisions, look for a bulletin board displaying two notes. Current walkthroughs identify that board as the route marker, so continue along the branch where it appears. There is no verified fixed direction string comparable to the Zephyr Fields maze. The Down, Right, Right sequence circulating in guides belongs to Zephyr, not Harbor; use the two-note boards here instead.

Claim the Nimbus Regalia Recipe

Finish the traversal and collect the reward at the end before leaving the challenge room. The Moonlighter 2 Howling Harbor hidden treasure unlocks the Nimbus Regalia armor recipe. Wait for the interaction or chest collection to register and check the objective state. Blo-Blaster is not the Harbor reward; that gun recipe comes from the separate Zephyr Fields starting-node maze.

Why the Howling Harbor Hidden Treasure Is Missing

Troubleshoot the unlock, Eris task, and event room in that order. First confirm that Souls Forever Lost 2 made Howling Harbor selectable. Next confirm that you visited Harbor and accepted Eris's named treasure quest. Finally, reroll question-mark nodes until Anacard and the child appear. Repeating runs cannot compensate for a locked region or inactive quest, while repeated town conversations cannot force a particular random event into the current dungeon map.

Howling Harbor Is Still Locked

Visit Julien during the day. Confirm that he has joined Tresna, the Zephyr Fields boss is defeated, and Souls Forever Lost has advanced through a Kalina Night Realm visit. Return to Julien to close that step, then accept Souls Forever Lost 2. If an earlier Julien quest is still available, complete it before expecting the Harbor unlock to appear.

Eris Does Not Offer the Harbor Quest

Enter Howling Harbor once, return to Tresna, and check Eris again. Make sure Harbor is genuinely selected on the adventure circle rather than confused with Zephyr Fields. If the region has never been visited on this save, Eris has not received the progression trigger described by current guides. Do not search Anacard's room until the matching objective is visible in the journal.

Anacard Appears but the Portal Does Not

Move behind the NPC pair toward the staircase, inspect the edge for the narrow descending route, and continue until the zipline prompt appears. If the route remains inactive, verify Eris's Harbor task. Anacard's presence confirms the room type, not the quest state. If a different NPC event appeared, continue to another question mark or begin a new run rather than searching that room for the Harbor entrance.

Howling Harbor and Howling Harbour Mean the Same Place

Howling Harbor is the spelling used by the game. Howling Harbour is the British-English spelling of the same Aeolia region, and Howling Harbour's Hidden Treasure refers to the same Eris quest. In either case, look for Anacard's question-mark event and the route descending behind the NPCs. The spelling does not change the prerequisite, portal, platform challenge, or Nimbus Regalia reward. Check the region name in your journal before leaving Tresna, particularly if you have more than one treasure task active.

Keep Treasury Halls Out of the Harbor Route

Treasury Halls belongs to the Gallery, while Howling Harbor belongs to Aeolia. Both treasures involve concealed routes near NPCs, but they require different event rooms. Treasury Halls uses Sliver's event and rewards Blo-Blitz; Howling Harbor uses Anacard's event and rewards Nimbus Regalia. If your journal names Treasury Halls or the room contains Sliver, follow the Gallery guide. For Harbor, keep looking for Anacard and the nearby child.

Questions, answered

Moonlighter 2 Hidden Treasure FAQ

Where is the Moonlighter 2 Howling Harbor hidden treasure?

It is attached to a question-mark event containing Anacard and a young boy. Go behind the NPCs beside the staircase, follow the narrow route downward, and use the zipline to reach the green challenge portal.

How do I unlock Howling Harbor?

Advance Julien's quests after recruiting him and defeating the Zephyr Fields boss. Complete Souls Forever Lost by visiting Kalina's Night Realm, return to Julien during the day, and accept Souls Forever Lost 2 to open Harbor.

Do I need Eris's quest before finding the Harbor portal?

Yes. Enter Howling Harbor once, return to Tresna, and accept Eris's matching hidden-treasure task. Finding Anacard identifies the right event room, but the portal may remain unavailable while the quest is inactive.

Howling Harbor is unlocked, so why can I not find the treasure?

Region access does not activate the treasure by itself. Confirm Eris's Howling Harbor task is accepted, then search question-mark events for Anacard and the child. The entrance descends behind them beside the stairs, not behind the starting platform used by Zephyr Fields.

What is the Howling Harbor hidden treasure reward?

The reward is the Nimbus Regalia armor recipe. Blo-Blaster belongs to the Zephyr Fields hidden treasure, despite one conflicting roundup table that appears to reverse the two Aeolia rewards.

Is Howling Harbour different from Howling Harbor?

No. Harbor is the in-game American-English spelling, while Harbour is the British-English spelling. Both names refer to the same Aeolia region, Anacard event route, platform challenge, and Nimbus Regalia reward.

Is there a fixed direction sequence for the Harbor challenge?

No verified fixed sequence is required. At branches, follow bulletin boards displaying two notes. The nine-direction Down and Right sequence found in some search results solves the separate Zephyr Fields zipline maze.
